WaterLase dentistry is one of the most advanced dental treatments available. It uses focused light energy with a stream of water for a precise and gentle dental experience, especially for nervous patients.
Here at The Avenue Dental Practice laser therapy is used for the treatment and prevention of periodontal disease and for oral surgery. WaterLase offers important advantages over conventional treatment using scalpels and sutures as it is less invasive. Tissue and bone can be preserved with a minimal laser-based approach whilst removing calculus, disinfecting and eliminating the bacteria in deep periodontal pockets caused by gum disease.
It is also used to improve the appearance of your smile, removing excess gum tissue that gives a ‘gummy smile’. Gum recession can be prevented and ‘tongue ties’ treated.
Benefits include little or no use of anaesthetic, fast healing time, less bleeding and the ability to treat more than one area of the mouth in one visit making the experience more comfortable and providing better results.
Laser technology helps us take better care of you and your oral health.
Vatech CBCT Scanner
The Avenue Dental Practice has recently invested in the latest technology with the Vatech PaX-i3D SMART digital radiograph and CBCT scanner. This technology enables us to take in depth radiographs of selected areas or of the whole mouth, the image being available in seconds on the computer system. This helps us to identify any issues or concerns that you may have in your mouth quickly and efficiently.
The scans are used for diagnosis purposes in cases of periodontal (gum) disease, assessment of bone levels and for implant placement. We are able to enlarge images on areas of concern for a more detailed view, with the benefit of an immediate diagnosis.
If you would like more information regarding the scanner, please do not hesitate to ask one of our dental team.
